Happy Mother’s Day Good morning and welcome to North Pointe! We are so thrilled to see you and have you worship with us this Mother’s Day. Today we will recognize each of our mothers and present a very special gift to both the youngest and oldest mother. Thank you for being such a valuable part of our church family. Have a wonderful weekend!
History of Mother’s Day
Mother's Day in Appalachian homemaker, organized a day to raise awareness of poor health conditions in her community, a cause she believed would be best advocated by
mothers. She called it "Mother's Work Day." the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," organized a day encouraging mothers to rally for peace, since she believed they bore the loss of human life more harshly than
anyone else. to memorialize the life work of her mother. Anna began to lobby prominent businessmen and politicians to support her campaign to create a special day to honor mothers. At one of the first services organized to celebrate Anna's mother in 1908, at her church in
Five years later, the House of Representatives adopted a resolution calling for officials
of the federal government to wear white carnations on Mother's Day. In 1914 Anna's hard work paid off when Woodrow Wilson signed a bill recognizing
Mother's Day as a national holiday.

Two Teens / 16 Days Adventure Cooper Hammann and Spencer Loman have been given the opportunity to participate
in Kingdom Building Ministries’ 16 Days’ Adventure. 16 Days is a physically, emotionally and spiritually intense discipleship program designed
for high school students. It’s packed
with action and suspense that will keep students on their toes.

Memorial Day Sunday Coming up this Memorial Day weekend, plan to join us for a very special Sunday morning
worship service. We will not only plan to recognize all of the servicemen and women who have given their lives for the freedom of this nation, but there’s something else we will plan to do. Many of us have had either a mother or father or maybe a sister or brother who has passed away. These family members
meant so much to us. Well, this Memorial Day service, we will plan to pay a special tribute to their memory.

Memorial Day Cook-Out at
We’re having a Memorial Day cook-out at That’s right on Memorial Day Monday, May 26th you’re invited to join us at Shelter #1 from 4 ‘til 8 pm for hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. Plus, we’ll have homemade ice cream, too!
We’ll even have a softball game between the adults and the kids.
We’ll start signing up volunteers to assist with all the trimmings next Sunday! Mark your calendar and plan to join the FUN this Memorial Day!
