WHO WE ARE

Our Story
In June of 1999 Jeff and Teresa Loman, along with their two sons moved to Wilmington to launch North Pointe Community Church. They began by starting small groups and establishing a core group of members. Their first ever worship service was held in December of 1999 at Blair Elementary School, with regular weekly services beginning in January of 2000. In April of 2001 the church held their first ever Easter celebration at Wrightsville Beach , an annual tradition. The church relocated to Judges Road Business Park in October of 2001 and established a building fund campaign in February of 2004.
The Church purchased their current property at 4490 Gordon Road in January of 2005 and held its first service in June. Hurricane Florence caused damage to the church’s interior which required extensive remodeling that was completed in the spring of 2019. Covid-19 forced the church to shut down from March through July of 2020 and again from mid November 2020 through January of 2021.
Since 2010, there have been four different church plants that have used our building. Currently The Casada La Adoracion (House of worship) uses the facility for their Tuesday and Saturday services.

Our Pastor:
Jeff Loman
While in high school Jeff landed a part-time job at WZOO (710 AM) in Asheboro. After graduation, he moved to WBBB (920 AM) and WPCM (101.1 FM) in Burlington. It was while in Burlington that Jeff gave his heart to Christ. Still, while working in radio, he started to look for volunteer opportunities for using his gifts in ministry. A door soon opened for him to work with a non-denominational youth organization, Kids in Christ.
Later, God called him into the ministry. Although he was able to keep his hands in broadcasting, in 1984, he walked away from a full-time career in radio to pursue his ministry passion. For the next 11 years, he served in youth ministry in both Siler City and Thomasville, NC. In 1994 he became a senior pastor in Troy, NC. It was in 1998 that Jeff sensed God leading him down a new path – as a church planter. In 1999 he relocated to Wilmington to launch North Pointe Community Church. In the early stages of the church’s development, he found himself serving as a bi-vocational pastor. So, resorting back to his radio career, he was given the opportunity to work on-air with Jammin’ 99.9 FM from 2000-2006.
In 2006, because of the church’s growth and development, Jeff moved back into the full-time pastorate at North Pointe. Just three years later, along with his pastoral duties, he was given the opportunity to join the Carolina Christian Radio staff. Since 2009, he has been the host of afternoon drive (3-7 PM) on Life 90.5 and most recently took on the role of midday announcer on Hope Radio (88.5 and106.7 FM).
Jeff has been married to his wife, Teresa, since 1985. They have two sons, Spencer and Dru, a daughter-in-law, Jordan and a granddaughter, Selah.
